Agios Gordios: This village and the surrounding area is becoming more popular. The village is located on the west coast in the central section of the island and its 14km from Corfu town. It is well known for crystal clear sea, sandy beaches and a rugged and beautiful coast line. The surrounding area is full of greenery with hills covered with olive and Cyprus trees and open land. In the village there are a variety of restaurants and traditional tavernas, supermarkets and other types of shop. The land for sale is situated about 50m west from the center of the village. Land size 863m˛. It has outstanding views overlooking the Ionian sea, forested mountains, open land, as well as a few other houses built in the same area. The land has a fairly steep slope on which can be built 300m and there are many olive trees. Water and electricity supplies are about 10m distance from the land. IMPORTANT LAND PURCHASE ISSUES
 
  1. If the land m2 are close to the minimum required (for example the land is 2100 m2 and 2000 m2 is required) it is advisable to have a second and independent land survey carried out.
  2. Check the m2 that are legally permitted to be built on the land.
  3. Always make sure (through your lawyer) that the land is not registered as “forest” in which case building is not permitted.
  4. Check the road access to the land. This could be the subject of dispute with a neighbour and/or expensive to construct.
  5. Check the distance to access water and electricity as this too may be expensive to bring on site.
