Aharavi : This is a large village /settlement situated on the North coast of the island about 35km away from the center of Corfu town. IMPORTANT LAND PURCHASE ISSUES
 
  1. If the land m2 are close to the minimum required (for example the land is 2100 m2 and 2000 m2 is required) it is advisable to have a second and independent land survey carried out.
  2. Check the m2 that are legally permitted to be built on the land.
  3. Always make sure (through your lawyer) that the land is not registered as “forest” in which case building is not permitted.
  4. Check the road access to the land. This could be the subject of dispute with a neighbour and/or expensive to construct.
  5. Check the distance to access water and electricity as this too may be expensive to bring on site.
